When the Settlers first colonized Pern, they landed in the Northern Continent,
rather than the Southern Continent, as was originally planned.
Those first colonists were driven South by previously dormant volcanoes,
and the Northern Continent was abandoned.

Approximately one thousand years later, at the end of the Fourth Interval on Pern,
Thread threatens the planet again. With the five Southern Weyrs running out of space,
a new Weyr has been created on the Northern Continent: Demmin Weyr.

It is up to Neffin, rider of the egg-heavy Gold Holliath, and her weyrmate,
Jay'me of Bronze Fruith, to journey North along with a select group of
Riders and Candidates.

With time ticking away until the arrival of Pern's ancient menace of Thread,
can Neffin and Jay'me bring life back to the abandoned Northern Continent? [/align]
